Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) and Others Played Their Cards Ahead of Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone 6

In the race to steer some spotlight from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) ahead of iPhone 6 launch, all the major phone companies have announced new products in the market. The list includes Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX:005930), Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE), and Huwaei Technologies Co.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) launched three Smartphone ahead of iPhone 6 launch on September 9. Lumia 830 is the flagship phone from the company with features such as PureView and integrated wireless charging. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) launched two new Smartphone including Lumia 730 and Lumia 735 packed with three-month Skype subscription.

Apple (AAPL)

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX:005930) has used to the opportunity to launch two new innovative products including Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, and two more products. Note Edge comes with a curved display giving it an extraordinary look and marking Samsung’s brand over the innovative Smartphone segment.

Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) couldn’t have missed the opportunity and it unveiled Xperia Z3 Smartphone, Z3 Compact Smartphone (4.6-inch screen), and Z3 Table Compact (8-inch screen). The most exciting feature of these devices from Sony is the ability to use them for PlayStation games. It is another attempt from Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) to revive its Xperia series of Smartphone.

Last but not the least, Huwaei Technologies Co. is trying desperately hard to break-off from the second-tier Smartphone pool and the company announced that it plans to take on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in the Smartphone segment. Huwaei Technologies Co. will aim at a 25 percent market share against its current 7% and Richard Yu, Head of Consumer Unit at Huwaei, said,

“Three or four vendors will survive, the rest will disappear.”

The company launched Ascend Mate 7 Smartphone with a price tag of $650 with a 6-inch screen.
