They consist of defining the field of interest, developing a hypothesis, conducting experiments and collecting the data. Afterwards comes the analysis and obtaining and understanding the results. And these are only the general steps. More particular and detailed procedure will depend on the field of research, and type of the project – that being developing of some patent or observing some patterns in nature for example.
