Amazon.Com Inc (AMZN) Ready to Grab Lion’s Share in Advertising Business

Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) has always been projected as a global online retailer and it is a reputation that the company has gone to great lengths to cultivate and maintain but recent updates have been suggestive of another niche wherein it is trying to make a mark – advertising. The month of August, 2014, was witness to the company going public with the launch of its advertising platform. This was subsequent to the aggressive announcement made by Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) on 22nd August, 2014, wherein it expressed the desire to venture into this new niche usurp it from the present leader, Google.

True to its word, the company has been releasing numbers to the tune of billions where advertising is concerned and Chad Bartley, Senior Research Analyst with Pacific Crest Securities was quick to point out on CNBC that Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) is indeed serious about this proposition. Coming from an expert who covers e-commerce, digital media and Internet was the opinion that as compared to its main competitor namely Google, Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) is much more widespread and versatile and hence diversifying into advertising will not be very difficult.

He went on to observe that because the company has been aggressive with its investment pricing and boasts of billion dollars in revenue, it offers an opportunity that every investor should look forward to.

Simultaneously Bloomberg interviewed Lisa Utzschneider, Vice President, Global Advertising division of Amazon and although she could not divulge detailed information, she certainly provided an insight into the business model being pursued by the company. Given that it boasts of 244 million active accounts, this in itself is likely to appeal to customers who wish to advertise their product on a global scale.

Some of the features that makes Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) attractive is ecommerce ads as also the company’s ability to check the ad’s performance on the Internet. Meant to be dynamic in nature, these features are likely to assure customers that Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) is dedicated towards providing them with an exceptionally good and involved ad experience.
