BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY) Ready to Bounce Back with Acquisition of Movirtu

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is all set to regain its lost position in the mobile world with acquisition of Movirtu being one of the important game changing factors. In addition to the acquisition, BlackBerry’s latest offering, Passport, is making rounds all over the Internet.

The acquisition of Movirtu will help BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) improve its enterprise software portfolio and add more products in mobile security segment. Movirtu offers a Virtual SIM Platform that allows separate billing of a personal number and business number used in the same phone. It would allow employees to switch between both the numbers without carrying multiple SIMs or devices. Movirtu will help BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) in improving its corporate owned personally enabled (COPE) and bring-your-own device (BYOD) environments.

In addition to Movirtu’s acquisition, BlackBerry® 10.2 operating system has received the title ‘The World’s Best Mobile OS’ from Digit, largest selling technology magazine in India. The 10.2 OS from BlackBerry was tested against Android 4.4, Windows Phone 8.1 and iOS 7.1.2 and it received a rating of 56.91, highest among all the other mobile operating systems.

Blackberry’s latest Smartphone, Passport, is likely to be launched at an event on September 24 as a competition to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Passport was leading a poll titled “Which new Smartphone has you most fired up” conducted by the gadget blog ‘The Verge’.
